Self publishing is hard, no one in their right mind would say it's easy, so you have to make it easier where you can. And one area I can do that is by moving the blog. It'll be easier for me to keep up on posts, and the overall maintenance of it and the website. Another reason for this decision came from my on-line stalking of other authors. Shh, don't tell them. But they've made it, what they're doing works, so why not try to learn from them? And I've noticed with many authors, the big guys and the middle class guys (as I like to call them), that they keep their blogs on their websites. Not other hosts like Blogger or Wordpress. There's an expression I've heard many times before, "Dress for the position you want, not the position you have." And us writers do that in many ways, like having a website at all even if no one besides our mom knows about us.
Like the rest of you, I have goals with my career, and we all take active steps to meet those goals. Dressing for the position we want, not the one we have. And, someday, I would like to be among the ranks of the big boys, real authors. And one tiny step I can take, to help dress for the part I want, to move forward, is by moving the blog. Seems silly, but after you stop laughing and take a look at the logic behind it - it's a decent idea. We all share information and learn from each other, and how they present their online presence obviously works. So it makes sense to me to proceed with my website/blog in the same fashion - by keeping them on the same site.
Sooo, for the next few weeks I'll be cross posting both here and the new blog. But after that, whenever you visit the old blog, you'll be automatically redirected to the new blog. I really don't want to lose any of you, I love every single one of my readers!!! So I'm making this as simple as possible in how you can follow the new blog. You'll be able to follow by email (and get the weeks posts delivered every Friday) or by RSS feed. Please take a minute, hop on over to the new blog, and follow in whatever way works best for you. It'll only take a second, and save me the heartache of losing any of you ;) And if my begging isn't enough to entice you, anyone who (re)follows the blog is automatically entered to win an ebook of Reinventing Claire, plus an additional surprise ebook that is one of my favorites!
